Elegant four course candlelit dinner overlooking beautiful Elliot Bay while watching the sunset over the Puget Sound with Bainbridge Island on one side and the most picturesque city in the world on the other side...is how we used to spend our Valentine's Day! This year on Valentine's Day we realized how much our lives have change in a year and while we will always cherish those days of care free romantic dinners for two, we wouldn't change our lives now for anything. This year Tyler took Averie and I to our favorite Seattle restaurant, Palisades. This was our fifth time going to Palisades for Valentine's Day but I think we both agreed that unless Aunt Becka and Uncle Mike babysit it may be our last :)! We all three got dressed up (Averie wore a cute brown and pink polka dot dress) and headed to our early 5:00pm dinner reservations. Of course Averie fell asleep on the way to dinner and we both thought that it was going to be a great evening. It was a beautiful clear day and the view from Palisades overlooking the water, islands, and downtown Seattle is by far one of the best in the city. However, as soon as we got there our precious energetic talkative 4 1/2 month old was wide awake and ready to play. Needless to say we spent most of the evening walking her around looking at the ponds while the other person ate. As we left Palisades we couldn't help but laugh at how much our lives have changed and how we now view the perfect evening as eating a home cooked meal together at our table (Averie sits in her bouncy chair on the table) then playing in Averie's room with her toys before we put her down for bed and then playing dominoes while we watch episodes that we rent of 24 or if it is Tuesday night The Biggest Loser and heading to bed at 9:00 pm. Our lives have done a 360 from a year ago but we couldn't LOVE life more than we do right now!!

Uncle Mike and Aunt Becka are ALWAYS free to babysit sweet Averie!!! But this still might be your last time dining at Palisade! :) Love you all!
XOXO Aunt Becka
Great idea starting a blog! Loved seeing Averie jumping in her jumper. Brought back memories of my two each in a doorway jumping away and laughing.
Enjoyed reading how your lives have changed, but your lives are so much richer with your precious princess.
Love, Sandy
